In the year 2006 a young Puerto Rican couple Héctor Augusto and María Cristina, took upon the mission of taking the oldest and most traditional rum from Puerto Rico “Ron Caña”, which was illegal for over 500 years and legalized it as the registered brand Pitorro® to produce with pride and love.

Destilería Coquí Inc. is today the largest Artisan distillery in the island a 100% family owned  producing over 50,000 cases of different types of handcrafted rums per year. Destilería Coqui, Inc. is proud to work with an extend family of 25 great colleagues that take pride everyday in producing the best handcrafted rums in Puerto Rico.
