Als aktives Mitglied der Birds Caribbean (ehemals Society of Caribbean Ornithology) hat sie viele ihrer Aktivitäten koordiniert. Sie baute die Villa Barrancoli im Dorf Puerto Escondido, das sich auf 400 Metern über dem Lago Enriquillo -Becken befindet.
